Rest In Peace, Doris Lessing

This week saw the passing of Nobel prize-winning author Doris Lessing, whose novel ‘The Golden Notebook’ was considered to be her finest work, and is still in print 50 years after its initial publication. The groundbreaking book, said to be loosely autobiographical, centered around character Anna Wulf, a novelist who struggled with writers block. A true free spirit, Lessing drew inspiration from many, varied influences, including a childhood spent in Central Africa following World War I. Lessing, who lived to the age of 94, lived a truly amazing life and will be missed by the literary world.
