Be Honest…

One of the keys to successfully writing your life story is being honest. Readers will know if you aren’t and as a result you will lose them. Esteemed sportswriter Rick Reilly recently published his final column after decades of writing. His wry, edgy style was his hallmark as he reported on stories from all over the sports world and beyond. Yet he also showed a lot of compassion and heart as he put his own twist on the stories he was reporting. His final column was particularly poignant, as he shared his early challenges and shortcomings, both personal and professional. When writing your life story, remember to include the good with the bad, the unflattering along with the prouder moments. How do you deal with the parts of your life story that you are reluctant to share? I would love to see your ideas in the Comments below!
